Kawayan Marine Resort is situated along the southern coast of Malabuyoc… a sleepy town located 126 kms southwest of Cebu City. GETTING HERE:
Prior to your arrival at Kawayan Marine, foreign visitors may fly direct to Cebu City and take a taxi for the South Bus Terminal. Local visitors may also opt to travel by plane or board a passenger boat bound for Cebu City and take a taxi from the airport or seaport for the South Bus Terminal. At the bus terminal, look for buses bound for Bato-Barili… the bus ride takes 3-4 hours with a 15-minutes stop-over either at Barili or Moalboal. The bus fare range from 130-150 pesos. When aboard, just inform the driver or conductor that you are getting down at Kawayan Marine Resort in Sto. Nino, Malabuyoc.

Dolphin-Watching
enjoy a scenic cruise along Tanon Strait while being captivated by the wonderful sight of dolphins spinning, jumping and swimming beside the outriggers or boats. The best time to enjoy this activity is early morning when the sea is calm and when the dolphins are at their playful best.

Local Tours
The south-western part of Cebu is blessed with natural and historical wonders yet to be discovered… old Spanish churches, convents and watchtowers, magnificent waterfalls, gushing rivers, placid lakes and pools ideal for swimming, mystic caves and springs.
The resort arranges tours in the hidden jewels of Malabuyoc and in the neighboring towns. Guided tours are at Php 300 / day tour.

Town of Malabuyoc
The town boasts of natural wonders unlike those in other towns…. the hot springs and waterfalls in Mainit are very popular tourist attractions.
The Montaneza Falls in Mainit attracts adventure and thrill-seekers. The river threads into a narrow ravine with huge boulders and flanked by limestone cliffs and dense vegetation. The three sets of waterfalls is perfect for rapelling, jumping and climbing. The cool, refreshing pools at the base of each waterfall are great for swimming. The Mainit Hot Springs where one starts their hike up the waterfalls is known to heal and sooth the weary adventurer.
Looc Falls on the other hand still remains unspoiled and a hidden jewel of Malabuyoc. A trail bordered by overgrown shrubs and trees leads to the Looc River where one passes through limestone walls flanking a good portion of the river, up a treacherous mountain trail and after an arduous hike you are greeted by the magnificent, captivating beauty of Looc Waterfalls surrounded by lush tropical vegetation and huge boulders.
Town of Ginatilan
Inambacan Waterfalls, nestled in the lush vegetation of the mountain of Sitio Calabawan in Ginatil. The clear, cool waters of the falls’ three levels is ideal for swimming.
St. Gregory the Great Parish Church, a 157-year old church is of Baroque Architecture and is located at the heart of the town.
Ginatilan Town Plaza or the Millenium Park and Lighthouse, aseaside public park is where townfolks of every generation converge for a stroll, to relax or enjoy the sunset across Tanon Strait. At a corner of the town public park is a lighthouse to guide sea vessels plying the Tanon Strait.
Town of Samboan
St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church… this chruch of Neo-classicArchitecture sits on a plateau overlooking Tanon Strait. The chruch complex has a three-storey stone Spanish Watchtower facing the sea. This simple, open structure has openings on all four sides and the archway on the lower storey opens to a long flight of stairs leading down to the foot of the hill. This staircase is the popular Jacob’s Ladder of Samboan.
Agunid Falls is a series of small falls of varied forms and shapes… the only way for you to get to the peak or last waterfall is to climb the limestone walls of each waterfall from the lowest to the highest and prepare yourself to get wet. This falls in Tangbo River remains untouched, uncommercialized… mystical, breath-taking, a jewel of Samboan…
